Urban Archaeology, Photography by Christopher S. Brace

3 06 2016

ChristopherSBrace_3Once a month, the A.I. Friedman Gallery welcomes a new local artist to show their work in our Port Chester store. This June, we are welcoming the talented Christopher S. Brace to show his photography all month long.
Christopher was born and raised in New York and currently lives in Connecticut. He says of his work, “The mission of my photography is to capture the nostalgia of advertising from an era gone by.” The Post No Bill photo above is a great example of this, Christopher photographed it after a building fire which melted away the layers of overpaint to reveal this signage.

His photos preserve time capsules that might be lost otherwise.  Christopher says he is driven by the fact that theses works are disappearing forever.

We will be having a Reception for the show on Saturday June 11th from 1:00-3:00pm at our Port Chester store.  All of the art shown will be available for purchase and Christopher will be there to meet and greet.

If you can’t make it to the show in person, check out more of Christopher’s work on Instagram @Vintage_ImageNY.
