After the dormant winter, spring ushers in a new series of in-store demos at A.I. Friedman’s 18th St. store location. Artist Jim Bergesen kicks things off Saturday, April 16th from 3pm-5pm. He’ll be demonstrating drawing techniques using the likes of Conte pencils and crayons, Winsor & Newton water soluble sticks and markers, as well as their lightfast pigmented markers. Besides doling out his years of knowledge and experience, he’ll also have some samples for those in attendance. The following Saturday, April 23rd, has us offering the first of its kind demo on All Things Archival. Presented by the folks from Lineco, the leading authority on archival materials and methods, they will be discussing something all artists are concerned with, how to best preserve our work. From mounting photographs to storing rare Civil War memorabilia, from wrapping canvases to preserving your child’s drawings, these guys know how to make things last. Any and all questions will be answered in this informative session beginning at 2pm. These events are free but space is limited so please stop by the store to sign up or email David Trowbridge at email@example.com. See you soon.
