Employee’s Pick – September 2015 – Holbein Acryla Gouache

16 09 2015

HAG_webHi, folks! My name is Jeanne Ungar.  I am a member of the Fine Arts team here at A.I. Friedman.  I am a painter who also writes poetry.  Since I have begun working at the store, I have been introduced to a variety of new mediums.  One of my favorites by far is Holbein Acryla Gouache. It is the perfect combination of acrylic polymer emulsion and opaque color. I can do anything with Acryla Gouache, be it in my landscape paintings as well as my abstracts. It can be used like watercolor, designer’s gouache, or acrylic paint. It adheres to a variety of surfaces such as canvas or paper. It dries to a permanent matte finish, is light fast, and one of its unique properties is that there is no value shift from when the paint is wet to when it dries. Reasonably priced, it’s perfect for a student on a budget. And with its array of beautiful colors, there’s no limit to what can be produced. So try some and don’t be afraid to experiment.  Visit A.I. Friedman stores for your art supply needs.  Check out our store calendar for upcoming store events and demonstrations.
