Spring Contest Winner

ContestWinnerThis beautiful painting “Eruption” is A.I. Friedman’s Spring Contest  winner.  It was created by accomplished artist Naomi Shriber.  Naomi has been painting since she was a little girl in Brooklyn.  The vivid colors in this painting helped her to forget the grey, white and black of winter.  She studied at the Art Students League and the National Academy.  Her MA in Art Education is from C.W. Post in Brookville, NY.  Naomi taught Art in the Huntington Long Island Schools and is currently teaching painting at the Scarsdale Adult School.  She is a member of the Scarsdale Art Association, the New Rochelle Art Association and the Westchester Artists Guild.  A long time A.I. Friedman customer, Naomi first shopped at the 18th Street location and then the Port Chester store after moving to Westchester.  She loves the sensible way the store is organized and can always find what she is looking for.  In creating her art she uses pastels (soft, hard and pan), UArt paper, PastelMat, acrylics and water based oils, stretched canvas, brushes and once in a while a palette knife for texture.  Her passion for Art is obvious and the underlying reason for all that she’s done in her life.  You can look at other amazing artwork by Naomi on her website, www.naomishriber.com.  Congratulations Naomi and keep pursuing your creative dreams!  To all the creative people out there, check out A.I. Friedman’s Facebook page for information on the new Earthday Contest and how to enter your artwork.  Take a look at our website calendar for upcoming store events and demonstrations.
