Come out of the cold and into the High School of Art and Design for hours of drawing, painting, sketching, or whatever gets your creative juices flowing! This March 15th begins the First Annual Art & Design Draw-A-Thon and Fundraiser to support the High School of Art and Design. Your participation will support scholarships and art supplies for the art students who attend this school, an establishment known for a long tradition of producing the finest talent in the creative industry.
For nine hours (1 P.M to 10 P.M.) the doors will be open to those who purchase a ticket to draw from live models. There will be a range of pose sessions available throughout the day, from quick five minute poses to “loosen up and work the rust out of your joints” sessions. Once warmed up and those artistic engines are running there will be both 20 minute and full hour poses to explore the human figure.
Students under 18 years of age will be required to submit a consent form signed by a parent prior to the event or they must be accompanied by a parent to the event to be granted access to the nude modeling section. Costumed model sections will be available to all ages who wish to draw heroic/cosplay poses.
For those looking for the best deal, order tickets ahead of time and save on the price. Full price tickets will be available at the High School of Art and Design door for those rushing over at the last minute: Students $15 Adults $25. Before heading over to work out those winter blues with some therapeutic drawing and painting, stop on by our 18th st location to get your art materials for this event! A.I.Friedman, proud sponsor, has everything you need from paper, canvas, pencils, paints and more to get the most out of your Draw-A-Thon!
